Maybe: If you have hay fever and become allergic to black molds, Claritin or Allegra may reduce the runny nose, sneezing, and itchy nose but not likely the congestion.  However inhaled nasal steroid or antihistamine usually works better.

ive had a very itchy rash on the side of my right knee on & off for 2 months. weve had black mold in my house for over a year. i have allergy symptoms already. can the mold be causing this rash?

: Any thing is possible but chances of your rash being from mold are low. Get rid of the mold in yourb house and see your Md for proper diagnosis and traetment

Low risk: Black mold is problematic for people with definitive allergies to the mold but, if you're not allergic to the mold just being in the same room with the mold without disturbing the mold should not pose a health risk. There's a lot of hysteria about "black mold" perpetuated by companies that charge exorbitant prices to eradicate it...it's not a big health risk.

Allergy to mold: It is good that you have found the source of the mold , the next step would be making the cleaning a routine.  If your allergic symptoms subside after a thorough cleaning (Clorox?), then no further evaluation needed. If the problem persists, then consult an allergist to find out if you have become allergic to the mold.

had sinus surgery for nose; swells get black n blue.  allergies to molds bad. can my bottom jaw hurt from sinus when barometric pressure/wind high.  ?

Not: In severe and chronic maxillary sinusitis, the upper teeth but not the lower may be involved. If you have allergies, you will need to get this treated as well because the nasal swelling will likely close up the sinus openings leading to sinusitis again despite the surgery.  If you have water damage at your home, you need to get it fixed or move out.  Recommend an allergy consult.

Only if you are ill: Not all people exposed to black mold will become ill. However if you have respiratory problems, nasal congestion, pneumonia, sinus infection etc. , you should get out of the area. See an allergist if the problems persist even after having moved out.

Not: likely because inhaled spores will be addressed by immune cells in your trachea and lung, while not directly affecting your immune cells in your gut lining.

Black mold not toxic: Extensive scientific studies of black mold show that mold, black or other colors, is not toxic to humans. If you have a mold allegy, then the spores may cause allergic eye, nasal and chest symptoms. The moldy smell can also be irritating to the respiratory tract. Mold growth indicates excessive moisture at the site of growth. The mold should be properly removed and the water leak repaired.

Mold: Mold is mostly black and not all is toxic black mold, stachybotris. A short time may not lead to long term health effects but may cause acute respiratory symptoms depends on extent of exposure
