Safe: The dose is not relevant. No dose is effective for anything whatsoever. Save your money. You have enough problems with the parkinson's. If hair loss is really important to you, see a dermatologist.

Doubt it: Biotin deficiency is rare, but can occur in persons with genetic mutations, on long-term antibiotics or anti-convulsants, or who eat a lot of raw egg whites. There is no good evidence that this easily available, over-the-counter supplement is the magic potion to grow hair or prevent hair loss. Biotin is safe to take at normal recommended doses (the Mayo Clinic website recommends 30-100 mcg a day).

Play it safe & smart: Bodies are resilient in some ways at times, and they are delicate in ways at times.  Products manufactured to aid our bodies can be beneficial, but if the company goes to the trouble of advising a dosage,  respect them! don't take risks! it is not smart  - you'd have no one to blame but yourself if there were bad results. Thinning hair is way less ugly than a very ill or dead woman.

Biotin has been reco: Biotin has been recommended by some dermatologists and alternate medicine practitioners.As it is shown that biotin deficiency can cause hair loss.It can be tried with a dose of 2to 10 mgm per day, to stop the shortage and prevent hair loss
selenium in excess can cause hair loss.

See Doc to check: While biotin may help hair grow faster, it's unlikely to reverse extreme hair loss. I advise seeing a doctor to find the cause. Common causes include hypothyroidism & pcos, both associated with obesity. Neodipar and other medicines can cause hair loss as a side effect, as can iron deficiency anemia. See

: 1. Biotin messes with blood tests for thyroid and other things. Tell your Dr you are taking it.  Do family tree for baldness hair loss in men and women. Share with your Dr.  You may not have fallen far from your tree's roots. Need to know cause of hair loss to decide best treatment.

Doctor can evaluate: There are no vitamins, herbs, supplements, nor foods that are proven to slow hair loss (male pattern baldness in men). Maintaining a balanced diet of healthy foods, and taking one multivitamin + minerals tablet each day, should keep a person in normal, good nutritional status . . . So his scalp and hair should be as healthy as they can be. Hair loss at a young age should be evaluated by a doctor.

Somewhat: I prefer rogain foam not solution, 90% of my patients experience burning with the solution but not the foam. Biotin supplements work better for nails, they make hair shaft stronger but the supplement doesn't increase hair growth. Its a common misconception.

Hair loss and biotin: If you are low in this vitamin it will help but you need to know the cause of your hair loss.  There are multiple cause and finding the cause is the first step to treatment.
