Need to examine: It is not feasible to know for sure, without examining you, however, if the boil was between your buttocks, even at upper end, it is likely to be a pilonidal cyst/sinus. Then there is also the chance that the instrument you are using is not sharp enough and is damaging the skin..Thus leading to rash and infection.

It may: It may come back. From what you are saying it may not have been a boil if it was only blood.... Could be a cyst, atheroma.

High White count: It sounds like you had an abscess, which are not uncommon in the underarm area.  A high white count may sometimes be associated, but may be a separate issue.  Treatment for the abscess is incision and drainage. Fever, high white count and signs of septicemia may mean antibiotics would be indicated as well, but if related to your abscess the white count should return to normal after drainage.

Boil I&amp;D: Since it was Incised and Drained and then even has the packing in it, you do not want to get it and the packing wet.  Keep the area clean and dry and follow-up as instructed by your Doctor to have the packing removed and the area assessed for proper healing and improvement.  Best wishes.
