Seldom used: When we used this years ago we used the CR to give enough quick acting to start the healing backed up with the long acting to maintain an antibiotic level for 10 days. The LA doesn't. Few patients were interested in the 2 large shots, one in each leg, that it takes to treat the average adult or older kid. Oral meds are as effective and better accepted.

: Did this occur before or after you received bicillin? If this occurred more than 24 hours after you received your benzathine penicillin (Bicillin) shot, there was no risk of transmission. If it happened within 24 hours, or before the Bicillin, s/he must be informed and receive preventive treatment with Bicillin. The chance of transmission through clothing is very low, but maybe not zero.

Jarisch-Herxheimer?: Benzathine penicillin (Bicillin LA) can cause injection site (buttock) soreness, maybe felt in leg and back on the same side. Bicillin itself won't make you drowsy or lightheaded, but treatment of syphilis (almost the only thing treated with Bicillin) can cause fever, muscle aches, and maybe these symptoms in the first 24 hours ("Jarisch-Herxheimer reaction"). Discuss with the doctor treating you.

Strep throat: Even though you have been treated the pus is signed of dead cells and as long as the rest of the symptoms are resolving or completely resolved does not mean the infection is not better. I would wait a couple of days and if every other symptoms is resolved this should go away soon. If the symptoms are the same or worse you might need an alternative antibiotic.

Less than optimal: The blood flow through the fat is slower and less predictable than through muscle. However, the medicine will eventually leak out into your blood over time and suppress strep activity.
