Neosporin: I do not recommend neosporin as 15-20% of the population have an allergic reaction to neomycin in the neosporin.

i suffer with mild acne but i pick until they turn into open wounds, red and swollen. how can i heal these fast? i have already tried neosporin.

See dermatologist: I'm so sorry you are suffering from acne. The dermatologist, or your pcp, can provide you with different forms of topical treatment that should help--a different topical antibiotic and/or drying agent can make a huge difference.

My first question : is what are the wounds from. I would actually use aquaphor and get in to see your gynecologist or dermatologist to determine what is cause unless it is just trauma and aquaphor clears them. Some are allergic to neosporin.

Yes: Antibiotic ointment is good on small open wound best to use what your surgeon proscribed.

Accepted Answer

Neosporin: Is less likely to hurt or to interfere with healing.  Just clean it as you were directed, then blot or blow dry, and apply the Neosporin as a protective and antibacterial cover.

Cellulitis: Oral, topical, or intravenous antibiotics may be used to treat cellulitis. The extent of the infection and its location help determine what type of antibiotic is used.Oral antibiotics include penicillin, cephalexin, or cefaclor. For people who are allergic to penicillin, a cephalosporin or Erythromycin can be used.Topical antibiotics for mild cellulitis but do you feel you can determine this!

what can i use to treat minor scrapes for 2 month old babies? (she sratches herself and has sharp nails).neosporin, betadine?

Sharp nails!: You may apply neosporin twice a day to the scrapes on your baby.  Try using an emery board to file your baby's nails so that the nails aren't sharp enough to scratch herself.

Yes: That's not unusual if you have not cleaned it for awhile.  What you did was fine but soap and water or a little rubbing alcohol would likely have done the trick.  Try to clean the area out once a week.   If the antibiotic did not help, consider an anti-fungal cream.

i had plantar fasciitis surgery 3 weeks ago. the dr said to alternate betadine and neosporin.  would mupirocin ointment work?

Ointment: the mupirocin would be acceptable to replace neosporin.  However, I would still suggest betadine or a hard soap like cetaphil to keep the area clean.

No, see a Doctor: It does not sound normal, does sound infected, and may be transmissible. You should be evaluated by a doctor--yours, or urologist or county health dept "std clinic" or urgent care.
