Drink beer: I have recommended this to my patients at times and they have gotten relief and seen earlier passage the the stone. 
It initially increases the urine flow and may move the stone faster and clear it. But if you do not keep hydrating , you will get dehydrated and it is not useful for longer lasting renal colic.

Stones: A good rule of thumb when you have been diagnosed with kidney stones - it is okay to be uncomfortable while passing a stone, even if you are taking pain medications.  However, you should go to the er if you meet any of these criteria:
1. Your pain cannot be controlled with the prescription pain meds.
2. You are vomiting so much that you can't drink or keep down your meds.
3. You have a fever- 101f.

Pain control: If the urologist already reviewed your case and decided that the stone is small enough to pass without intervention, then pain control would be indicated. Other medications are usually given to help pass the stones including flomax (tamsulosin). See your treating physician for consultation.

Severe pain in back,: Flank or groin, blood in urine, passage of "gravel" in urine. Pain is related to degree of urinary blockage. You need pain medication & a urologist for relief. Small stones can pass on their own. Passage can be facilitated by taking flomax, (tamsulosin) which can dilate the ureter and make passage easier. Urologist may place temporary stent or perform ureteroscopic extraction. Larger stones need eswl or pcnl.

Where &amp; how: If the stone was in the ureter &amp; removed through the urethra you will have discomfort for a day or 2 in the urine channel.The pain in the flank would be gone.If a stent was left you will have some irritation in the urethra,especially if it has a thread to pull it out later. It can but careful!: Heat can relieve the pain; have to be careful as it can cause burns. It may also cause some chronic changes in the skin if used for a long time. It is better to get treated.

:    No.    You might have passed a small stone or 'gravel' Drink plenty of water and if you have not seen a Urologist in a while pl do so to get checked for any other stones.

No: Your kidney stone is a separate issue. You need a thorough exam of the vascular system  you need to also give a personal history such as do you smoke or any alcohol. This certainly is abnormal so go back to your doctor
