Find out the cause: Itching watering eyes with contact lens use usually means allergy to the solutions or the lens materials.  We generally recommend hydrogen peroxide disinfection regimens for soft lenses and use of anntihistamine drops for the itching.  Sometimes, we need to use short courses of steroid drops to break the cycle.

Dry Eye: The best eye drops for dry eye are theratears and genteal gel (both over-the-counter).  Systane is also a good choice.  For bedtime, i recommend refresh pm ointment in each eye.  
Restasis is used for moderate to severe dryness.  Other things to consider are a humidifier on dry winter days, and to avoid having a ceiling fan over the bed while sleeping.

i suspect i have dry eyes but my vision appointment isnt until may 16th. what can i do in the meantime to treat it. can i use refresh eye drops even if im not sure if its dry eye yet. im experiencing blurry vision and watery eyes?

: Can you get advice from the ophthalmologist about what he/she recommends you do until your appointment?  I would suggest applying warm compresses to your eye lids if the are reddened or itchy and also using refresh eye drops according to instructions.

Any allergies?: Dust, wind, sun or smoke exposure could be the cause, you can try with red eyes drops a few days and of course avoiding any exposure if you don’t feel any better please see your doctor

Try Zaditor (ketotifen) drops: And use natural tears during the day to rinse out the pollen dust etc. Or try naphcona.. Both come as genetics =cheaper  just as good.

See eye doctor: Try using artificial tears four times a day because many times the eyes water when they are dry as an overcompensation.  If no relief, see eye doctor because the drain duct could be clogged.

Allergy: I agree your symptoms point to allergy. You might use pataday eye drops which are now available without prescription and a systemic medication such as Claritin.
