i have idiopathic edema on my cheeks since years. spironolactone has reduced it slightly,but not much. can u suggest a stronger diuretic?

Leg edema: Yes, Diurex can be used to help leg edema, but is not a strong fluid pill.  It is mainly used for the bloating and water retention associated with menstral cycles.  If you are just having swelling in the legs and nothing else, you should see your doc to investigate further. Try natural first: Dandelion and nettle are supposed to be good natural diuretics, and should be OK while nursing. Cranberry juice would be safe and that is reputed to help. I have also read that watermelon and cucumbers help to encourage urination, so maybe try those.

Edema : Inderal (propranolol) can be taken with diuretics not clear however what he underlying cause of the edema is . Need to rule out cardiac renal or liver causes among others.

salivary gland disorders, 
sinusitis.

IVC occlusion: Whoa. +2 proteinuria does not cause massive edema of your lower body. I suspect you have occlusion of your inferior vena cava by a thrombus perhaps propagated from a renal vein, or occlusion by somthing, perhaps tumor in or around it. Get with a consultant physician who's a good communicator.
