Palpitations, rapid: Heart beat, dryness of mouth, dizziness and at times agitation. It may also cause tiredness/sleepiness in some.

Overdosing Meds: Loratadine and cetirizine are both antihistamines, and carry side effects including sedation and drowsiness, among others. Increasing the dose of one agent, or combining agents, may increase the likelihood and severity of adverse effects and potential drug interactions. You should consult a physician before modifying medication instructions.

Pseudoephedrine: Sudafed is the best i think. It is available as an otc but behind the pharmacy counter, not on the shelf.Not indicated for people with high BP or palpitations or heart disease.

Nasal steroid but: Nasal congestion is not the cause for an allergy cough but post-nasal drips and/or asthma may as would be a sinus infection. Nasal steroid remains the most effective if post-nasal drips are the cause for the cough.  You may need to consult a doctor re. the cough should nasal steroid fail or the problem gets worse.

Afrin (oxymetazoline: When used for short time frames, 3-5 days, it is very effective.  Longer use causes rebound congestion that is quite problematic.

Depends: Post nasal drip is a feeling and not a clinical condition or a pathological entity. It is that abnormal feeling of mucus in the throat and it can be due to many different causes ranging from allergies, sinus infections and viruses to atypical reflux  or a reaction to things that you eat and drink. I have cured more people of "postnasal drip" by having them stop drinking coffee tea and soda.

Topical decongestant: The long-acting OTC decongestant nasal spray will likely work the best. However do not use this for more than 5 days else you may end up hooked to the spray which is not healthy for your nose .
