Get gyn eval to r/o underlying pathology. Consider omega- 3 fatty acids, magnesium (supplementation or through diet) or.

The uterus: Is a muscle, thus it cramps.  Think of power required to deliver a baby.  More specifically, chemicals called prostaglandins, a result of inflammation, sparks the cramp,  try aleve (naproxen) when necessary and the birth control pill is helpful.  Gd luck.
