Live with it or fix: Hammertoes are a structural problem that is inherited.  If they're not causing you pain, don't do anything.  If they are causing you pain, you have to decide whether the pain is bad enough to warrant surgery, because surgery is the only way to fix a hammertoe.  The surgery isn't all that bad, actually, but it makes no sense to have surgery unless you have pain.

Have an x-ray taken: If the fracture is non-displaced, tape splinting the broken to to the adjacent to is usually the treatment of choice.  If it is displace, then the fracture will have to be set.  It can be done manually under local anesthesia, but in severe cases, it would have to be set surgically.

Worsening symptoms: Simple toe fracture often require no special treatment beyond pain control and some buddy-taping as pictured here for support.  Motrin, tylenol, (acetaminophen) or Aleve often suffice. If obvious deformity (severe, angulated fracture) or maceration of toe/foot, then consult with doc for care. Otherwise, expect some pain for a few weeks, but should get better each day. Good luck.

It depends: Toe strapping and rigid surgical shoe. On occasion if displaced, it may require surgical reduction.

Likely: Depending on the location and whether a joint is affected can alter treatment plans. In a non-displaced, non-articular (not involving a joint) we often buddy splint the affected toe to it's neighbor for 4 weeks. If the joint is involved there are times when surgery is considered to either remove the fracture fragment or primarily repair the fracture with fixation.

Several things: Most of the time the area should be cleaned a examined or probed to make sure there is no foreifn material left in the wound.  Oral antibiotics may be given depending on what you stepped on.  Tetanus should be up to date.

See a podiatrist: Corns are callouses on the toes and are caused mainly by shoe irritation over a period of time.  They can just be trimmed by a podiatrist, but will usually come back. The real cause is bony enlargement or malpositioning of the toe. There is a real simple surgery to smooth off the underlying bone and the corn should go away permanently. You can also have your shoes stretched or wear wider shoes.

Bony enlargement : It is thickened skin that forms pressure over a bone spur. There are no natural treatments. You can protect the area or have it removed.

See podiatrist: Do you mean the nail is green? This is likely fungus. If there is green drainage or pus this could be a pseudomonas infection that would require an antibiotic.
