Not for your scalp: If you are considering transplants to the scalp then no, not good for that purpose.  Cannot remove enough to be helpful, plus would leave significant scaring on the face from where it was harvested.  Dr R

No beard to scalp : The beard and scalp have completely different types of hair, and beard hair is not suitable for the scalp. Also, scars are left in the hair donor site. Even if the beard was a suitable donor site, you would not want to have these scars on the face. Donor hair should be taken from the back of the head where the hair density is sufficient. I use the Neograft technique, which leaves no linear scars.

Yes: hair tx has no side effects.
Testosterone ink are shown to have significant side effects, like cancer, heart disease etc.

Unknown: However, there two factors to consider: 1) the natural aging process and 2) the possibly effects of chronic rejection.  Given face transplants are in their infancy, it remains to be seen how this will play out.

It's genetic: A few men have tried painting their faces with rogaine (minoxidil) but the results haven't been altogether salutary. Around 5% of men have no chest hair and very little facial hair, and if you are not genetically programmed to have a thick beard and a lot of body hair, you can't change this. Most women in the usa seem to prefer a smoother, thin-bearded man, & if you're fit, lean, muscular, this is all moot.

Hair: About 20% of men do not have hair follicles on their face and thus cannot grow beards. If you do not have hair there you cannot grow a beard.

Could be normal: Not all men have a large amount of beard growth. It does not mean that there is anything medically wrong, though I know it can be culturally uncomfortable in some cases. If it worries you, see your doctor. Hope this helps!

Nerve transplants: Yes quite possible. The biggest issue is coverage. Right now where we are heading is toward rationed care, expensive services will be restricted. If transplants are expensive and successful in less than 50% of cases they will likely not be covered.  Pt will be needed after and this is already being restricted under obamacare to 24 sessions unless a new problem arises.
