In most cases if you can look at your mother and see that she experienced alopecia you are probably going to have the same issue-try 2% Minoxidil otc. If you're overweight trim down to your ideal body weight and see if that makes any difference. Try to eliminate stress from your life. Mostly who's containing sodium laurel sulfate which is a petrochemical and you can decide if you believe there's any low-grade toxicity associated with it.

Wrong diagnosis: I believe that telogen effluvium is extremely unlikely from spironolactone. You are more likely suffering androgenetic alopecia. If you do not wish to take a chance on spironolactone, consider a 5-alpha reductase antagonist such as finasteride. Dutasteride is even more efffective. You can still use minaxidil topical. Finasteride costs about $10-$20 for 90 days. Dutasteride about $10 for 30 days. D
