No it has: Nothing to do with that, but u need a workup for that with an exam , blood work and an ultrasound.

i was diagnosed with bacterial vaginosis so my doctor put me on metronidazole gel for 5 days. i only took the medication for 3 days because my period came so i missed 2 days of it. should i start the medication again today and take the 2 days i miss?

Call prescriber: You did. It mention if symptoms are still present, but do phone the prescriber and discuss with him/her as that is the best advice!

Yes: A study in 2009 reported that BV can in fact affect fertility in women. Pregnancy rates increased after appropriate treatment of this very common vaginal infection. However, absence of menses also may be playing a role.

Probably not: Check. A pregnancy test. If negative you just might be late or too early to tell if you are pregnant. You could have it retested by blood to be certain.

No : Vagonal infections do not delay periods. Infections do need to be treated. If you think you might be pregnant check then check a home pregnancy test. They are cheap, reliable and available  at any pharmacy.

Could be BV: It is possible to have an overgrowth of gardnerella (causative bacteria of bv) during the menses, which resolves afterward recurrently each cycle. The steep drop off of both Progesterone and estrogen can produce an environment more hospitable to gardnerella than during the other weeks of the cycle. Get checked for BV while not on period to see if treatment w antibiotics could be indicated.

Generally not: It is usually a bloodless fishy smell discharge. I would look for another reason for you to be bleeding. All the best.

Yes, but not fully!: You are probably having partial periods which will soon normalize.  The bacterial vaginosis is not a player!

You : You need to be seen and examined, and to have culture swabs taken to find out what type of infection it is.  Possibilities include chlamydia, gonorrhea, trichomoniasis, but there are other possibilities as well.  Please be seen immediately as these types of infections can cause serious problems.
