Call your surgeon: An infection could cause the fever.  If so, you need antibiotics.  Call your surgeon tonight to start that evaluation and treatment if necessary.

The correct: Thing to do is to return to your surgeon and ask him/her to re examine your shoulder. He will be the most qualified person to tell you. Sometimes shoulders  take a while to became pain free, but is impossible to give you a good advice without examining you. Good luck.

Scar tissue?: Don't really understand the question.Have you developed a 'frozen  shoulder' 3 months following arthroscopic rotator cuff repair ? ART?( PT? Manipulation ?, injection?) please clarify your question and avoid abbreviations if possible and I'll try to answer . Thanks!

Get 2nd opinion: Arthroscopic rc repair is a common procedure.'frozen shoulder' is a condition that can occur after repair or may have started earlier... If you are still having significant pain( on hydrocodone), loss of motion and don't seem to be improving then a 2nd opinion is never a bad idea.Try to see a board certified ors w/ sub specialty interest in shoulder surgery( if possible ).. i recently had rotator cuff surgery.i also have chronic neck and back pain. i'm a diabetic and need to exercise. walking hurts my back and no swimming?

Start simple: Starting simple is the key. Although walking may hurt your back, you have to start simple and build up to longer and longer walks. It will strengthen your back and help with fitness and make you feel better. Swimming is dependent on what your surgeon tells you. Usually 2 weeks is a time we tell our patients before swimming, but you need to check with your surgeon who can guide your activity best.

You can.: With a successful repair and appropriate post-operative rehab, you should be able to resume powerlifting. However, you should be aware that you are more likely to incur a re-tear than most patients, because of the immense forces on the rotator cuff, associated with powerlifting.

You need assistant: You can not use that arm for 3 weeks, beside the pain you are going to have from the surgery, so if it is your right arm you can not use it for three weeks almost for any thing.

Surgeon preference: This is an question best asked of your surgeon. Every surgeon has different protocols and different philosophies about motion after rotator cuff repairs. The rotator cuff pulls against the repair even when you sit in a sling/immobilizer completely braced. So it will never be completely protected. Some surgeons want physical therapy right away to keep motion. Others will wait 6-12 weeks.

can a shoulder freeze up again after rotator cuff surgery, ?

Yes: Reduced shoulder motion is a common complication of rotator cuff surgery.  Prevention is multifaceted.  Appropriate physical therapy with early passive motion and progressive active motion at the correct time is important in preventing this complication.
