Pain when supine: I assume there has been no recent injury. Your symptomatology suggests some spinal problem, possibly curvature.?good mattress. When you're standing your paravertebral muscles apparently splint whatever spinal abnormality that causes your pain but  when supine you lose that splinting effect. Popping feeling may be motions of ligaments. Consult a spine clinic for full evaluation if symptoms persist

Low back pain: Occasionally, a  pop can be heard that is benign, mostly coming from the small facet joints. Another pop can be from a disc herniation, or an annular tear, the outside of the disc.... That can lead to back pain, and occasionally some buttock or leg pain. Avoid strenuous exercise and lifting, take anti-inflammatories, and do lots of walking. A cold pack after 20 minutes by some heat may help a lot too. Immobilization is typically bad.

ever since a year ago ive had a mild herniated disc. on and off it causes lower back pain especially when waking up. why does it feel like my whole lower body cracks and feels almost like it is breaking and popping when i wake up and stand?

: An injury to lumbar disc causes a shortening of the spinal column.  Continued attention to your posture, morning stretching, abdominal strengthening, and avoidance of twisting during lifting should be a part of your life going forward.  The cracking sound is tightness based.  Review your physical therapy exercises.  Be well through self care, and get checked if you're feeling weak or numb.

Internist or an ER: You need lungs evaluated. In an ER your Oxygen saturation and vital signs can be eval. On Physical exam should be able to detect how well lungs fill with air. You will also get an XRAY of your chest. An ER is expensive. Internist (or Urgent care) will also have a saturation meter and should be able to detect how well lungs fill. If chest XRAY needed they can send you for one. Do this right away.

Disc or facet  issue: May also be degenerative in nature especially if it eases up after being up for a while ; then gets worse toward late afternoon.  Exercise, weight control ; smoking cessation can help if these are factors.  Sometimes, other conditions can present as back pain so if it persists get it checked.  You can try some over the counter medication such as ibuprophen.  The facets are joints in the back.

Shoulder pain: Popping or snapping is almost always osteoarthritis (i.e., getting older, bone rubbing on bone, pain), but you always have to worry about torn ligament.  Go see in person doc and get good shoulder and back exam to rule out any structural abnormality.  If arthritis, only one great treatment -- move/ exercise (e.g., swimming).  The more you move, the less pain.
