Mgt: I would suggest checking her temperature, and seeing your Pediatrician soon. The lymph nodes swell in reaction to infection. Please keep your daughter well hydrated.Has she had all her immunizations?

Possible abscess: Most likely an abscess( an area of infection that can develop into ball of pus), secondary to an infected cyst or hair follicle, usually fairly painful, swollen, warm , red most of time along with an area that might be yellow-gold.
Fairly common Initially treated with warm compresses( towel soaked in warm water) for 10-15 minutes- 2-3X/day.
If no better, see doctor for possible drainage  + meds.

Needs follow up.: Cervical lymph nodes (in the neck) are common in children.  They can persist for very long periods of time.  Most important is that your pediatrician knows about them and re-examines them periodically (remind him or her from time to time).  They can be removed surgically or biopsied but this is not usually necessary.

have small lump on back of neck. it hurts and i think has a lot to do with my migraines. any ideas/advice on what to do??

Consult PCP: Small lump on back of neck is highly unusual for migraine; it is possible that the lump on neck could cause pain in the head.  You should consult your PCP to get it checked out.

Unusual but: Pharyngitis per se does not usually cause the entire neck to hurt.  However if you have significant lymph node enlargement around the neck, it can be painful.  If your neck is also getting very stiff, be sure to see your doctor since it may  indicate the presence of meningitis.
