there are studies that show a breastfeeding mom can take vitamin d supplements in the 4000-6000 range and have it pass vitamin d onto their babies in similar amounts to direct supplementation. is it likely safe in those dosages?

: Please follow up with your OB. Prenatal vitamins and Vit D in usual doses are usually recommended. Avoid supplements that are not approved and studied in clinical trials.

my 3 week old exclusively breastfeeding infant has 8-9 dirty diapers a day (many are smaller and many are also wet).. is that a normal amount? mom was on keflex for a week early on but recently stopped. could that have caused gut biome issues?

: A breast fed infant can poop with every feed, often just smears, or a diaper filler once a week. By itself this is not alarming or a sign of any gut issue. As long as the kid is a good feeder &amp; seems to be filling out/active I would not worry about it.

Not recommended : Cyproterone Acetate + Ethinylestradiol (ALTHEA) is not recommended for pregnant women. Breastfeeding mothers should not take Cyproterone Acetate + Ethinylestradiol (ALTHEA). This can reduce the volume of breast milk. Breastfeeding women can use progestin-only pills. Talk to your Dr for an alternative prescription.

Absolutely.: Particularly if the infection is on the breast, or within the milk ducts.

Hair rebonding: Your obstetrician can give you the best advice. Some will agree, others will not. If you are concerned you can discard your breastmilk on the day of your bonding.

Dont do it: Chemicals in bonding and dye can get into your body through the scalp. It is best to hold off until at least 6 moths when breastfeeding to  be safe...
