Fluid accumulation : When fluid (massive ) accumulates in the fetus, due to rh blood incompatibility  or more frequent acquired problems like infections genetic defects, diabetes etc will have fetal fluid accumulation in all tissues cavities ,  mother will have increased amniotic fluid,  called hydrops fetalis. Fetal mortality will be high.

im 27 weeks pregnant and still smoke, tried to give up but no willpower, not allowed any substitutes, realistically what damage am i doing to babies?

Please discuss with: Your ob, smoking can cause iugr, can lead to certain long term fetal problems and can also sometimes lead to placental abruption which is a bad emergency where the placental separates before term and an emergency c-section needs to be done and sometimes it is not done in time which could lead to CP or fetal death, smoking is very bad when u are pregnant.

is there any lifestyle choices i can do to make my fetus not turn out to be a fussy/irritable infant? he's very active at 27 weeks. anything i can do to calm and ease him?

No: The only cause and effect evidenced by medical study that causes a fussy/irritable baby is the effect of drugs like cocaine, heroin and caffeine.   Even a stressed out mom does not cause a stressed out baby since the physiological effects of maternal stress are transient.
The good news;  active infants at 27 weeks gestation do not predict actual infant behaviou after birth.  Good luck!  stay happy.

my babies heart rate was 170 beats/min in 12 weeks 4 days, 147 in 19 weeks 1 day, 131 in 27 weeks. by this can i able to know the gender of the baby? if can please tell me the gender

Sex determination: by heart rates is not  reliable.  By this stage, your OB should be able to accurately determine the gender of your baby with an ultrasound.  Congratulations!

how long is an infant protected from the flu shot given to a pregnant woman in the 3rd trimester? i got the 4 virus version.

Hard to be sure: The antibodies built during pregnancy are pushed into baby at a level higher per pound than mom retains. That said, all such antibodies begin to age out and become less effective with time. By 3-6 mo there is little if any left. Since there are always a few more flu strains circulating than the ones they can put in the vaccine, it is important to avoid exposure as the primary form of prevention

im 27 weeks pregnant, singleton and have velamentous cord insertion in placenta. and my placenta is in left lateral position. so far the babys growth is fine. i wanted to check in which position to sleep on for better blood flow to the baby?

: I do not think there is a specific sleeping position for a mother which may increase blood delivery to the fetus in case of velamentous cord insertion. Good luck to you and your baby.

i am booked for the 1st anatomy scan at 27 weeks 1 day. is this normal or is it too late. i just want to know if my baby is growing ok?

Too late ?: For hundreds of generations the only size monitoring of pregnancy was done by physical exam in the office (baby bump measurement). This was crude by today's standard but still done by most OB's. This should be fine to pick up any issues.

Likely to turn: You are still early and it is likely the baby will turn. If not OBs have plenty of experience either trying to turn or dealing with the breech.

3rd pregnancy, 27 weeks along and i look and feel as tho the baby's has dropped. is this possible. should i be worried?

Normal: Angie,
The sensation of the baby dropping is not unusual for a 2nd pregnancy. However, if you note any abdominal tightening/cramping, change in discharge, bleeding/spotting or leakage, please get immediate attention. The main concern would be for preterm labor, but this is unlikely if your first pregnancy progressed to term without problems.
