i need help. my baby fell from bed w/ a pillow but i didnt see what happend i just woke to her cry and she was already under the bed when i saw her?

BABY FALL: How old is your baby?  Approximately how far was the fall?  How is baby acting now?  If no visible signs of trauma to head, face, neck chest, belly, etc; AND baby is acting COMPLETELY NORMAL; there is likely no problem.  If there is ANY trauma or you simply have uneasiness or need peace-of-mind; contact your baby's doctor or go to an emergency department.

baby fell off bed and hit back of head. about 28inch high he screamed and cried and then seemed better... he is walking and smiling will he be ok?

Accepted Answer

Yes: No loss of consciousness, no sustained irritability or progressive change such as lethargy are signs that he will be OK. If he becomes suddenly tired or lethargic- consult with your physician.

my 7months baby fell on bed and hit her forehead and now she has a dent in the forehead.she has been acting normal she is playing,eating and it doesnt seem to be painful when i touch.its been 14days since she fell.should i worry will the dent heal?

: Yes, take the baby to the hospital or an office that can do a Ct.  she may have a fracture.  The frontal sinus is not very developed at this age.  I doubt it is fractured.  It’s best to check this and make sure nothing is wrong

: Your infant seems to have developed a small subcutaneous hematoma (collection of blood) which should resolve by itself.  Watch for changes in alertness, vomiting, and general activity.

Several cues: The kid who is not knocked out, disoriented or confused @ the time of the injury is probably fine. Confusion or repeated episodes of vomiting in the hours after trauma deserve a look over by the dr.Kids under 8 can be allowed to nap on their regular schedule, with you checking in on occasion.They wake up and barf with a change of status.Any change in personality deserves a visit.

Head Injuries: If she is vomiting she needs to be seen urgently.  If she is not vomiting she needs close attention for 24 hours. If she falls asleep this is fine, but is she easily aroused from sleep?  I would have you check that every couple of hours during her sleep to make sure she can be aroused. After 24 hours the risks nearly all go away.

Need more info: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion with examining the baby. If the baby did not hit the head first, you may watch and wait. If the baby is breathing normally, can eat and drink and move as before, there may not be a cause for concern. If there are any issues with breathing or moving, go to a hospital.

Exam: The height of the bed and the surface he fell onto might help to determine a type of injury. Most babies with type of fall have no serious injuries, but an exam will help put your mind at ease. Definitely if you notice and pain, swelling or other abnormal response, he should be checked immediately. All the best.
