Avoid: Talk to your OB doctor for specifics about you, but in general you want to avoid any supplements and medicines not prescribed by a doctor while you are trying to get pregnant.  Even doctor prescribed medicines should be reviewed with your OB doctor as some are not ok to take while pregnant (many cholesterol meds, for example).  You should be on a pre-natal vitamin while trying to get pregnant.

No: It won't do any of those things. All it will do is cost you a lot of money and potentially cause medical harm. Don't get your medical information from friends, tv or the internet. See a qualified doctor and get real treatment if necessary.

None: There is no good clinical studies that show that any of these injections will assist with weight loss.  Eating fewer calories, burning more with exercise are the only real way to lose weight and keep it off.

Less: Do not take the HCG at the same time with or together with the b12, as you may experience less efficacy of the hcg. This is just anecdotal. Just take the B12 on a diff day.

It varies: The liver can store vitamin b 12 to last several years. And as long as you follow a proper diet, your body will not be depleted of vitamin b 12. The half life of HCG is about 33 hours. B-12 is necessary for normal function of the cells in your body.

In order to find out how long HCG lasts in your body, one needs to know the amount of HCG that was injected into your body.

Scam: I expect that even the physicians at healthtap who are most sympathetic to the supplement industry would encourage you to follow a regular weight loss program and spent the extra money you'd be paying for the HCG and B12 on a gym membership or something fun with the great people you'll meet there. Physical exercise normalizes your appetite & is the key to weight management.

Some use pills: Hcg meds used for fertility are injections of either recombinant or ultrapurified hcg. Many 'hcg diet' clinics use an 'oral' form of HCG - a pill - which is complete nonsense, and likely does nothing at all.

Yes and No: Yes, one "can" (no law against it, unless the medical claims are untrue). No, one "should not" (best to stick to proven, conventional medical therapies). For conception issues, the ob-gyn doctors are the one's to get advice and treatment from.
