Well,...: Antibiotics ca decrease the efficacy of Birth control by less than 1%, so there is a small chance.  Doubtful as the chances are small, but still you need to know the risk of pregnancy does go minimally up compared to NOT being on an antibiotic.  I recommend condoms too supplement Birth control pills when taking antibiotics.  Best wishes.

was on azithromycin. am on the birth control pill. period is due in a day or two. have taken three pregnancy tests that are all negative. am i okay?

Tests are accurate: Home pregnancy tests are very accurate and not affected by foods, herbs, common illnesses, sexually transmitted diseases, or medications. A correctly done urine test gives a reliable result 3 weeks after sex (3 weeks after when conception might have happened) or 1 week after missing a period. If done sooner, a positive result is likely real, but a negative result may be due to testing too soon.

Not at the same time: The Gaviscon can reduce the effectiveness of the azithromycin. Take the Azithromycin 1st. Wait an hour or two before taking the gaviscon.

for suspected pelvic inflammatory disease, during pregnancy, what drugs can i take? i'm almost 5 weeks. cannot take azithromycin bc of my heart.

Penicillin: You will likely need a Penicillin class antibiotic which is safe to take during pregnancy. Please contact your OB for the drug therapy.

Safer than not breat: Check out http://www.drugs.com/pregnancy/methylprednisolone.html. Methylprednisolone has not been given formal pregnancy rating by FDA. However, it's probably safer than not breathing if you have asthma attack. Presumably prescribing doc was aware that you're pregnant but this is best addressed at time of prescription, not after. If in doubt, ask dispensing pharmacist too.

urgent: is zithromax safe during pregnancy for bronchitis?!?  25 weeks pregnant. no complications thus far... and how much is safe for bronchitis?

No problem!: Azithromycin is safe for mother and fetus! z-pack is a good choice for bronchitis in pregnancy (500 mg the first day and 250 mg daily for another 4 days. Hope you get well soon!

whatare the symptoms of systemic candiaditis?i got real sick post pregnancy after having early birth& zithromax/vanco and then omnicef (cefdinir) im not absorbing food. losing weight, white tongue& other stuff

See a PCP: Systemic candidiasis is not a common illness.  It usually occurs in patients with indwelling IV lines, immune deficiency states, or with IV drug use.  Your current condition sounds very disturbing and would strongly recommend you begin by seeing a good family practitioner or general internist and go from there.  Hope you were HIV tested during pregnancy.

No: Occasionally antibiotics can decrease the absorption of the  birth control pill. But not other forms of bc, normally the birth control pill prevents ovulation.
