Bone contusions: Bone contusions can take many months to fully resolve of symptoms.  Bone fractures ordinarily take 6 weeks to heal.

You may need a longer period of immobilization either in a boot or, more strictly, in a short leg cast if these symptoms are still bothering you, especially with weight bearing. Alternatively, if the pain is gradually getting better then some formal physical therapy may help your rehab.

Easy goes it.: It sounds as though you are on the road to recovery. A cam walking cast is most likely appropriate for the injury you have described. It will be some weeks before you can consider anything other than guarded activity. Sometimes using crutches for assistance in the early says of treatment is beneficial.
