why would someone need to avoid salt?

Fluid retention: Need more information.  You have to know the cause of fluid retention. Is it liver, kidney, thyroid or heart? Fluid in leg, abdomen or allover?Usually in all cases the water pills or injections are given. You had ercp, biopsy &lap. Surgery. What is biopsy report and what was surgery for? Have fluid restriction. Please discuss with your doctor who knows your history well. Thanks.
