Not useful: The nuchal  pregnancy test is reserved until &lt;14 weeks. After which it is not useful to measure. The ultrasonographers then use other measures to assess fetal anatomy

Nuchal Translucency : Nuchal Translucency is a screening test to determine risk of chromosome abnormalities in a fetus. When the NT is greater than 3.5 mm, there is a 1 in 5 chance of a chromosome abnormality such as Turner or Down syndrome, or Trisomy 18. Additional tests should be ordered by an OB or genetic counselor for confirmation. A mother may decide to continue or end of the pregnancy based on the information.

Varies with weeks: gestation, at  13 weeks of gestation, the normal range of NT for this age is 1.6-2.4 mm

Possible: A nuchal thickness of greater than 6 mm is associated with Down's syndrome. This is just a screening tool, however, and does not mean the baby has it. you need to talk with your OB about further testing.

Depends...: Need accurate terms and data.  13w5d is an appropriate time to measure 'nuchal translucency', but not the correct time to measure 'nuchal fold thickness' (measured later in pregnancy, 5mm or less is normal).  If this was a translucency measurement, then 3mm or less is 'normal'.  3mm is 0.3cm.  "0.07cm" is less than 1mm. 7mm would be increased, so see a perinatologist for repeat ultrasound.

Antenatal screening: Hi the nuchal fold thickness is only part of the antenatal screening...it is important to use the bloodwork along with the NT to evaluate your risk factors for genetic problems.

seems to be a pretty good discussion about it. I doubt I would have passed it though since I have a nuchal fold.
I am not at all sure whether this test has been evaluated fully. (like with Asians).

doc today i had quadruple screen, nuchal thickness was not so clear but he told it is about 3.2 mm.. is it normal to have this value in week 17?

Nuchal thickness: This is a normal result. An abnormal thickness done prior to 20 weeks gestation is greater than 5-6mm. All the best.
