my monocular diplopia has worsen.i noticed that ghost image is longer&larger than before.i have little to no ghost image with close things eg my phone,but now i do.now extremely things appear to have little to no diplopia. my astigmatism got worse?

Usually not: Astigmatism is a physical curvature aspect of the cornea and lens of the eye which in effect makes the eye oval.  The term astigmatism is from physics and is not usually a bad thing.  The correction is a reverse oval in the eyeglasses or contacts.  Most astigmatism is small and easily corrected.  Sometimes it is large or irregular and that make perfect vision difficult. See your ophthalmologist.

Most people do: Most people have astigmatism which is when the front of the eye is not a perfect sphere.  With significant astigmatism, your uncorrected (without glasses or contacts) vision is blurred.

So if you don't have blurred vision, you don't have significant astigmatism.  If you do have blurred vision, your eye doctor can tell you if it is due astigmatism or another cause.

Surgical: To permanently eliminate astigmatism, you have to have surgery, either on the surface of the eye or inside the eye.  For your age, if the degree of astimgatism is not unusally high, a surface procedure such as lasik is probably the best.  Toric lenses can be implanted inside the eye for those patients who have cataracts and need cataract surgery.

Visual blur: Astigmatism is found in an eye with some degree of ovalness. Most are intrinsic (not due to some external cause) and it is very common (over 60% of eyes have some degree of astigmatism). Correction is a reverse oval of the proper power in eyeglasses or contact lenses. Lasik can also correct this. There are no eyedrops, lifestyle changes or dietary changes to correct this.
