Get tested: Often symptoms that seem like asthma can be something else. A good history of your attacks including  how often they occur is vital. A spirometry test is also used to determine if your attack is asthma or something else.

Adult onset asthma: once considered only a childhood disease, new onset asthma can occur at any age now-a-day, that said , it should be investigated with good history and physical examination, besides imaging studies if  warranted to make sure no other causes producing such symptoms. Lumps on chin have to be seen, your primary doctor would help you with all of the above with specialist referral if needed, best wishes

Varies: It is uncommon for parents to hear wheezing in infants but can be heard by physician. Other signs of persistent asthma include prolonged cough- typically dry.  Symptoms of an acute asthma attack could be fast breathing, appearance of being short of breath, pulling of the respiratory muscles where you see indentation in the neck and chest wall with breathing and if present seek medical attention.

Or reflux: While asthma is the most likely source of post exercise coughing, reflux (or other issues) can contribute as well.  Seeing your physician, tell her/him the details of your circumstances and get pulmonary function tests.  Pre and post exercise testing is the most sensitive - as it will mimic your real life problem.

Yes that's OK: There are additional lung function tests you had that would help answer your question.  Your result of 74% of average might mean a little bit of airway blockage or might be normal depending on the other numbers.  Generally people with COPD have much lower lung function.  People with asthma may have reduced flow rates (lower fev1) that improve over time or with treatment with medications.

Not necessarily.: If your toddler's history is not consistent with croup, other diagnoses for stridor should be considered: stridor lasting for short durations (hours); stidor lasting longer than infectious period; stridor not associated with acute infection; severe episodes requiring emergency room visits or hospitalizations; progressively more severe or frequent episodes of croup; choking or gagging before onset.
