HIV is hard to get: Nope.  That sounds like very low risk. But,  in the future remember if there is high risk activity you can prevent infection if you act within 72 hours. The post exposure prophylaxis or pep is a way to prevent infection. Your doctor should know about this. If they do not know this we may need to get you to a different kind of family doctor...

Trauma: Ice to the areas of swelling/knots.  Tylenol (acetaminophen) for pain relief.  If any mental status changes, visual changes, worsening headache, balance problems need to see someone ASAP.

Abscess forming: The skin on buttock is rather thick and abscesses generally take longer for the "head" to come to the skin. Your bf is having an abscess forming and thus should be seen--he may need it lanced and possible treatment with an antibiotic. It is really a pain in the _ _ _ but should be checked out.  Good luck.

See neurologist: I don't believe you have shingles with so many areas of the body involved. However if you have painful blisters , it may be a serious condition and a dermatology consult is recommended.

Sciatica: Clinically, the symptoms are consistent with inflammation of the sciatic nerve. Perhaps a visit to your primary doctor is a start. Don't know why a ct of the head was done in the er.
