Absolutely: Not at the "exact" same time, but if 30+ minutes after, then should not be a problem. If overly dry or irritated eyes, be sure to discuss with your eye dr.

Viscosity issue.: The drops may be too viscous (thick) and you might benefit by the use of a less thick, non-preserved artificial tear product.
You may benefit from a full evaluation of your eyes for the underlying reason for the need of tear supplementation.

Depends: Red eyes in the elderly may have many causes : they include dry eyes, allergies and other more serious problems like glaucoma and iritis. See an opthamologist to make the right diagnosis and star the correct treatment.

Dry : Dry eyes can be caused by numerous things. A complete eye exam is necessary to determine the causes. Usually artificial tears, lid hygiene, and even changing the type of contact lenses may help reduce your eye irritation. Contacts made out of material allowing good flow of oxygen to the surface of the eye is highly recommended.

Also, if all the above fails, consider placing punctal plugs in your eye to reduce dry eye symptoms.

can you use mineral oil eye drops after prk?.. im almost 50 days post op and artificial tears make my vision clear and sharp but for only about 10 seconds.. also any ideas of any other things i could use that could make me see better during healing?

: You must direct this important question to the ophthalmologist who performed your PRK and saw you post operatively and noted the status of your eye.  Do not use any drops in your eyes that aren't ok'd by him/her.

Scleritis?: You may have allergies and there are some good allergy drops that can help.  Play detective and avoiding irritants can also help (second hand smoke for example, etc).  Visine may be an option too, simply to "get the red out", but having yourself officially diagnosed as to why your eyes are always red, is your best option, and an ophthalmologist would be the dr., to see. Best wishes.

Most people: with dry eyes do not need anti-inflammatory treatment.  They do well with just topical lubricants.

can i use artificial tears like tears naturale ii eyedrops (from alcon) everyday to prevent dry eyes. i'm an it engineer & i always use computer.

Dry eye: Tears naturale (artificial tears) is safe for the eyes.  They can be used every 1 to 2 hours for dry eye, if needed.  Remember to take frequent breaks when using the computer for long periods of time.  Alternate choices include systane and theratears.

could i use "tears naturale ii" eye drops to soak my contacts?

Accepted Answer

No: These are lubricating drops, they are not designed to clean or condition a contact lens. Use contact lens solution only to clean and store your lenses otherwise to increase the risk of a sight threatening infection.
