sharp left shoulder pain. hurts more when i take a deep breath, lie down or get up. i can move my left arm with no pain. no physical signs of trauma.

Not clear: Typically if pain is related to movement it is muscle related. You need to also consider pneumonia or in your age range to consider, though unlikely, a blood clot especially if you are on birth control. Heart disease or inflammatory diseases are something to consider although less likely.   See your doctor for a full exam and history.

throbbing pain in arm between elbow and wrist, no accidents or trauma to it. i was wondering what this could be a sign of?

Possibilities: There are a number of conditions that could cause pain here, such as a sprain/strain, pronator syndrome, a cyst, etc.  It would be reasonable to watch it for a few days and try an NSAID, and then see a physician if symptoms persist.

can tingling sensation in body (mostly arms) be a sign of ms? no numbness or dizziness. reflexes are normal to. no vitamin deficiencies according to tests. no trauma or alcohol consumption. other possible causes?

: It could be MS but may be a manifestation of tension or anxiety or deficiency of calcium or magnesium.. The brain communicates with the skin and can sometimes cause this type of symptom. If you still have concerns, consult a neurologist for evaluation.

can you have dislocated arm without any injury or trauma?

Accepted Answer

Maybe: Some people have congenitally loose joints that may sublux (partial dislocation) or dislocate without major trauma.  This is very uncomfortable and needs a lot of rehab to strengthen the muscles around the loose joint.  Would see your orthopaedic surgeon for advice.

Muscular most likely: The most likely cause is myofascial or muscular pain. It is possible that certain positions you might be sleeping in could be the cause of your pain. If you are experiencing any numbness/tingling or weakness it is possible it is a pinched nerve in the neck.  If you're not having any of these nerve symptoms, I would suggest trying different pillows. Suggest trying to roll a towel for neck support.

Could be neurologic:  it would be wise for you to see your physician and maybe get a neurology evaluation. The symptoms you have with the weakness could suggest some compromise to your neurologic system. There maybe other causes as well and this is where your physician can help clarify the issue and see if you need to see a neurologist.

Bursitis: It is likely to be an olecranon bursitis although an arthritis of the elbow itself is possible. Have the issue evaluated.

Get a blood test: Sudden bruising without injury should be investigated with a complete blood cell count. This will include a platelet count as well as red blood cells and white blood cells. Start with your primary doctor, for the blood test. He/she may send you to a hematologist if the test indicates and abnormality.  Or maybe you just are an aggressive sleeper. Don't ignore it, simple blood test
