i have sun poisoning on my face and i put that blue aleo gel ( with lidocaine in it) on my face. my face is swelling, how do i get rid of the swelling?

Benadryl (diphenhydramine): Sounds like an allergic reaction, so first thing, stop using the gel.  Try benadryl, (diphenhydramine) and see the dr. as you may need a steroid taper as well.  Good luck.

Possible allergy?: Having same sided facial and arm swelling could be related to the patch but it could also be related to other serious issue in the thoracic outlet and axilla(armpit)  if you have not had an MRI of chest and affected arm, i would strongly recommend it.  The impingement may be caused by a mass.  Seek attention from a general surgeon.

Antihistamine: Try antihistamine and topical hydrocortisone. If the area is painful, NSAID may help also.

Maybe: Pain with overhead lifting is a common symptom with rotator cuff tears. If you are having extreme pain you need to see a doctor.

Any other symptoms?: Swelling all by itself makes it a lot more challenging to consider a diagnosis.  Are you also having weakness, slurred speech, numbness?  If so, CNS pathology should be considered.  If it's only swelling then some problem with the lymphatic system should be considered.  CHF would involve both lower extremities, DVT only involve one limb usually so it makes it harder to consider these.

Can be liver or hear: There could be other reasons: would check for heart, liver disease, low Albumin from other causes.

ENT/allergist: sounds like seasonal allergies and nasal septal deviation: get examined and tested.

Swelling: It sounds almost like an allergic reaction to something - any new foods, perfumes, soaps, shampoos?  Any itching?  Medicines, both prescription and otc can cause these types of reactions too.  Make sure you get it checked out!
