Just watch it: The next time you need a wart removed, get with something scientific rather than a "pop" remedy that looks like an internet prank. Any irritant can stir up a wart so that the immune system removes it. If it gets red / hot / infected, get with a scientific physician. Leave it open and see what happens. All warts are somewhat contagious. Best wishes.

: HPV test result stays positive indefinitely. If the flat wart is surgically removed that site is no longer a source of transmission.

my sister has hpv(12other positive) facial warts (just got removed by laser treatment). is hpv facial warts contagious even without sexual contacts? holding hands or touching objects that she touches can be dangerous too? can she hold my newborn baby?

: Facial warts are unusual in adults. Is she immune deficient? At risk for HIV or tested for it? Indirect contact (i.e. shared objects) are unlikely to be a risk for transmission, but direct could be, and she should be very careful if she holds your baby -- and no kissing the baby. If she is immune deficient, perhaps a high HPV viral load, i.e. easier transmission. Discuss w/ baby's doctor.

Lots of ways: You can use the liquid nitrogen, liquid nitrous oxide (this is what i like to use), topical acids, dermal scraping. You can also try oral cimetadine (400 mg three times a day for 12-16 weeks). This is very safe and had the side effect of getting rid of warts for many people of adult size and weight (japma november 1, 1995 vol. 85 no. 11 717-718 ).

Wart treatment: Remedies readily available to the public for the treatment of cutaneous warts are:  1)  topical salicylic acid 2) freeze applicators or 3) duct tape.  Some warts will go away on their own, but can take up to 2 years to do so.  Warts can also be treated effectively in a doctor's office.  All the best.
