Time to see your PCP: There are multiple possible reasons from gallbladder disease to ulcer type inflammation. The next step is to see your pcp. If you want to try Omeprazole 20 mg a day for a few days until you get in to see them, feel free to give it a try. But even if the pain goes away on the omeprazole, keep the appointment.

Peptic ulcer: Duodenal peptic ulcer distress is usually improved by eating  as opposed to gastric or stomach ulcerations where foodmay precipitate distress. The actual degree of peptic laceration doesn't necessarily increase by avoiding food intake but probably remains the same size despite its symptoms becoming more noticeable. However I would imagine that the ulceration would worsen if days go by without food

Silent stomach ulcer: Not always.  Ulcers may not hurt if they are due to ongoing use of nsaid's that patients take for their "pain killer" property.  Sometimes ulcers in the elderly are without any warning symptoms until they bleed, obstruct, perforate.  If you think you have an ulcer, don't wait for it to become overtly painful before you seek medical evaluation.

No effect: Diet has no effect on the outcome of peptic ulcer disease. Avoids nsaids, use a ppi to aid in healing and treat hpylori if you have active infection.

Could have ulcer : Possible , you could have  ulcer also , see your surgeon first, could be part of post operative problem, after evaluation  possibly will look into stomach ( gastroscopy ) and treat you.

Ulcers: Can come from stress of surgery or long-term medical illness; also associated w/ bacteria h. Pylori. Ulcer is crater in lining of stomach (or duodenum) that allows stomach acid to irritate unprotected area & cause pain. See fp of GI specialist for egd to examine stomach directly to find ulcer or cause of pain so treatment regimen can be begun. Temporarily antacid/zantac/prevacid/prilosec may help.

Call your surgeon: You should call your surgeon asap. They will take your call day or night. You must make sure the ulcer isn't getting worse, or perforated.

Ulcers: If you recently had an egd and found multiple ulcers and you are now vomiting with blood, you should go to the hospital for possible repeating egd and further evaluation.   You should also call your go doctor to discuss with him for possible assessment and suggestions over the phone.
