Were they wart?: Genital warts are not treated with antibiotics, so are you sure that's what they were? If you have warts, then yes, you can pass the virus (HPV) to you're spouse.

after having liquid nitrogen treatment for plantar warts, it is not unusual to have some mild redness around the treatment area.  This is called "reactive erythema" and is a sign of the inflammation around the area that was treated.  However, redness that is warm and/or painful, or that spreads or that drains pus, can be a sign of cellulitis - a bacterial infection of the skin.  It can be difficult for patients to tell the difference sometimes.  I would recommend seeing your doctor right away to determine if antibiotics are needed.

If it is cellulitis, the most common bacteria that cause infection in this area are staphylococcus and streptococcus.  You may have heard of a bacteria that is more difficult to treat with antibiotics called methicillin resistent staphylococcus aureus (mrsa).  There are also other bacteria that can cause the infection but these are the most common.  Cephalexin is a common choice for skin infections but would likely not be effective for mrsa.  After examining your foot, your doctor can make an educated decision regarding which antibiotic is right for you, taking into account which medications you are already taking, your allergies, and your examination.

Never take antibiotics unless they are prescribed by a medical professional for your specific problem.  It can be dangerous to take leftover medications from a previous infection or to purchase antibiotics on the internet.  At best, it can confuse the picture for your doctor if a wound culture is needed.

Need right treatment: Genital warts are caused by hpv virus , antibiotics do not eradicate them, in some cases vaccination may, definitely need physician supervised one of several modalities to eradicate them and prevent future carcinoma of cervix in female.

Treating warts: Vinegar won't help warts at all, and neither will antibiotic ointment. If you're sure it's a wart, over-the-counter wart treatments are available (e.g. Compound W and others on the same pharmacy shelves). If uncertain, see a doctor for diagnosis. Good luck!

i am 23 weeks pregnant and have genital warts. itchy and burning. was put on antibiotics and cream but not helping, i dont have any sti should i be worried about this complicating my pregnancy? is my baby safe?

Genital warts is STI: Genital Warts or HPV is an STI. It can be transmitted to your sexual partner, and can infect a baby at birth. There are specific treatments your DR can perform in their office to remove the warts via cryotherapy (freezing), Topical Chemical application, Leep (electrocautery) or other methods. Removal of warts can reduce the risk of transmitting them to your baby. Talk to your OB/Gyn Dr.

Most of the time: If your warts are not large, tca is likely to be just as effective as surgery to remove them. Larger warts may not respond or may take multiple treatments to resolve. If you aren't pregnant, Aldara (imiquimod) cream may be another option. Instead of destroying the warts, it gets your immune system to attack them and can be done by you at home.

Salicylic acid: Most contain a mixture of Lactic Acid and salicylic acid which slowly peel away at the wart wit repeated applications. There also over the counter freezing devices but results are variable for larger warts.
