Most of the time: If your warts are not large, tca is likely to be just as effective as surgery to remove them. Larger warts may not respond or may take multiple treatments to resolve. If you aren't pregnant, Aldara (imiquimod) cream may be another option. Instead of destroying the warts, it gets your immune system to attack them and can be done by you at home.

Typically, yes.: There are many treatment options for warts. The choice of treatment depends somewhat on location but surgery is typically the last option. Common treatments include liquid nitrogen, salicylic acid plasters, tca solution and even duct tape.

Possibly...: Trichloracetic acid (tca) is a potent acid for topical treatment of warts. Like any modality, there are success rate ranges, it's just a matter of trying different modalities until you find one that works well for you. I generally reserve surgical intervention for the most stubborn cases, unless this is just what the patient wants.
