Shooting pain: sounds like "sciatica" could be due to a lumbar disc pressing on the nerve to detect this will need CT SCAN or MRI , the other possible cause is called piriformis syndrome  usually after certain type of exercises stretching to far of lifting

Pain: Many possibilities for this including a muscle or tendon  issue to your leg and foot, a nerve issue or compression, medication induced from the Bactrim (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) is possible as well, an electrolyte abnormality and even possible you may have a blood clot in your leg. I would see someone to get checked out.

diagnosed with idiopathic neuropathy in b feet: sensation/motor control are normal; constant tingling without numbness; no trouble at night; feet always ice cold or burning hot. could yrs of tying shoes tightly across high arches cause this?

: Although sometimes difficult to uncover, there is always an underlying cause for a polyneuropathy.  Your description is confusing, but would wonder about a small fiber neuropathy,  which could be evaluated by skin punch  biopsies.  Shoelace tying was unlikely a contributor.   A  neurologist with  neuromuscular focus might be a good source for further evaluation.

i have intermittent (3-10 times day) sharp pain originating in the lower (back side) calf and shooting down through arch of foot to the smaller two toes.   feels like an electric wire or burning sensation.  only lasts 10-20 seconds.

See a podiatrist: Many things can cause the type of pain you are experiencing.  Until you see a physician, try simple things like rest, ice, and elevation of the foot.  Anti-inflammatory medication such as Motrin may be helpful.
