Have fun: Aquaphor is a vaseline-based old-fashioned lubricant much like what couples and people by themselves have enjoyed for decades.  It would be surprising to find someone who's allergic.

Not unsafe: Aquaphor is not unsafe for eczema but may not be helpful other than helping dry skin.  My best ointment for eczema would be bagbalm, available in a green can at any pharmacy or grocery.  It is lanolin-based with a little bit of coal tar.

Probably: but plain vasoline is cheaper and has less chemicals which could irritate mucous membranes of the anus/rectum

Aquaphor & Healing: Aquaphor is a good way to protect skin barrier that has been disrupted a result of inflammation or controlled injury, such as a "laser peel". It prevents skin from drying out and becoming tight and itchy. It has no discreet medicinal properties.
Use should not harm a small scab. If the area is sizable, see your doctor for a better recommendation.

Aquaphor/CeraVe: Both are good in their own way.  Aquaphor is thicker, which generally is more hydrating, but cerave contains ceramides which are a specific benefit to people with eczema (atopic dermatitis).  The best one is the one you actually use everyday.

Yes in moderation: With frequent cleansings to avoid peristent occlusion and maceration with increased risk for yeast infection if kept excessively moist and/or not clean.

Could take a while.: Give it some time.  Eczema isn't dangerous, but it can be rather stubborn.  If Aquaphor doesn't help within two weeks, you might want to consult your doctor for a topical steroid by prescription.

I doubt any of: us can answer that with certainty. I ruined some valuable leather couches trying to clean them with Magic eraser. It destroyed the leather- I can only imagine what it did to your skin. I think the healing time will be largely related to the amount and depth of tissue destruction that occured.

Many options: For mild to moderate eczema, many people use over-the-counter creams, plus visit their primary care doctors. Hydrocortisone cream (up to 2 weeks) is cheap, available at most stores, and works well. A daily moisturizing cream used 2-4 times a day helps to heal eczema and prevent return of the rash. Examples: Cetaphil, CeraVe, Eucerin. Some people avoid creams with lanolin, aloe, or fragrances.
