Avoid constipation: Make sure your stool is soft in consistency by drinking plenty of water,fruits ,vegetables especially greens.
Take a cup of yogurt twice daily which will supply good bacteriae to balance the colonic bacteriae.

Dermatologist: You may have a condition called lichen sclerosis and atrophicus which is usually quite itchy as well. This responds to potent corticosteroids creams. I recommend that you see a dermatologist for diagnosis and treatment.

Most common : Causes of pruritus ani are caffeine and excess moisture. There is no correct amount of caffeine, so best to totally eliminate it for several weeks and allow area to heal, then reintroduce caffeine slowly to find your threshold. Also corn starch powder to bottom frequently and liberally helps with the excess moisture. Avoid chronic use of steroid creams!

No: Hemorrhoids are enlarged veins at the anal opening. A fissure is a tear in the lining of the skin of the anal canal. A hemorrhoid does not cause a fissure, but straining to have hard constipated bowel movements can cause both hemorrhoids or fissure. You cannot tell yourself on self-examination what you may have, and it needs a physical examination with a physician to tell.

today is 1 wk after anal fissure surgery. why do i still having burning and bleeding not a lot but after bm and during day. so disappointed!

Need time: Any ano-rectal surgery needs at  least 3 wks to heal., wait couple of wks, speak to your doctor.

Post Op Complication: It is amazing how nervous we can be to talk to someone about our butts.  But, your surgeon does this surgery every day of the week. They will be ready for your call and will most likely have answers ready for you.  If you are experiencing anything that they warned you about when you were sent home you must call them. Even now at this time of day.

Doctor can examine: Anuses are not designed for in-and-out sex. Just like in any big city, some streets are one-way and some streets are two-way. A vagina is created or evolved to be a two-way street (penis in, baby out). However, the gastrointestinal tract is designed to be one-way, with an opening on each end. Food goes in the mouth, and the brown stuff goes out the butt. (An exception is when one vomits.)

Anal fissure: Sitz baths can help. Sit in the tub for 20-30 minutes at least twice a day. Apply a Lidocaine ointment after the bath. Also make sure you are on a non constipating diet which contains lots of fiber.If after treatment you are not improving see a gastroenterologist to rule out an irritable bowel syndrome.

Rectal bleeding: The bleeding may be due to a painful anal fissure and/or hemorrhoids injured by hard stool. To more easily pass stools take daily stool softener like colace, drink adequate fluids, include fiber in your diet and insert glycerin rectal suppositories before BM. Insert dulcolax suppository or lubricated fleets enema as needed. Apply warm compresses. See proctologist if anal discomfort,blood persists.
