what could be causing tiny bumps/hives that come and go quickly. very itchy. anywhere on my body at any time. antihistamines help. started after taking birth control pill for first time (i stopped but the hives didnt.) could this be hormonal? 40yo?

: You do not say how long ago you stopped the bcp's.  An allergic reaction causing hives from something (medication, food, etc.) can last for 3 days after stopping what caused it. If you have hives for longer than that,something else may be going on, or something else may be causing the hives, so get checked in person. Consider other new products/pills/soaps/cleaners/fragrances/smoke in your house.

No: There is no interaction between Benadryl (diphenhydramine) and birth control tablets, unless Benadryl (diphenhydramine) makes you too sleepy and you forget to take the birth control tablets...

Causation likely: Hormonal influences are well-recognized triggers for hives. If the bcp is essential you may want to consider switching her to a longer-acting anti-h1.

i have very bad sinus problems. is it okay to take sudafed and benadryl (diphenhydramine) together? i also take birth control and fluoxetine for prescriptions. thanks!

Short term: You may take Sudafed and Benadryl (diphenhydramine) together for sinus congestion. The recommended dose of Sudafed in 30 mg three times a day for 5 days.  You can take up to 50 mg of Benadryl (diphenhydramine) at a time, but it is likely to make you tired.  There are no major interactions with your birth control and fluoxetine.  As always, consult with your doctor if you have ongoing problems.

Lowest dose: One with 10mcg of Estradiol would be expected to have the lowest rate of nausea, but nausea is a recognized side effect of oral contraceptive use with any/all doses/formulations.
