Anti-depressants: Two things:
1: You must continue to let your doctor know what is troubling you so changes might be made.
2: A consult with a Psychologist should be very helpful if you are "going crazy".

You are not crazy, I'm sure, but you do need help.

how i can stop night sweats? (i'm too young to be menopausal) i get night sweats almost every night. i think it's a side effect of an antidepressant i take. aside from stopping the drug, is there anything i can do to help with this side effect? thank you.

It : It is very likely that this is a side effect of your current medication and if so then likely the only way it will stop is if you discontinue the medication. I recommend you bring this problem to the attention of the provider prescribing your anti-depressant. If it is deemed likely a side effect, then you can way the risk versus benefits, and if you decide this problem to be unbearable then possibly a new anti-depressant can be initiated. Please note that you should not abruptly stop taking your anti-depressants. You will need the guidance of the prescribing doctor if switching to another medication.
On the other hand you could be dealing with idiopathic hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating, no specific cause)  if this is the case your primary care provider can start you on prescription medications or antiperspirants.

Yes: Night sweats can be a side effect of antidepressants commonly referred to as SNRIs such as Effexor, Pristiq (desvenlafaxine) or Cymbalta.  However, other antidepressants can also cause this.
If you are having this side effect, please tell your doctor so that you can find a solution or another medication which may work better for you.

Depends: Bromhidrosis or hyperhidrosis can be caused by thyroid diseases or as you found our from antidepressants. First, make sure you shower daily, wear clothes that breathe, like cotton especially during the summer months, use deodorants and antiperspirants . If these do not help, Drysol may be helpful. If all these things fail, talk to your doctor for more solutions.

: Anything that causes fever can result in night sweats, which usually are the result of fever breaking during the night. Inflammatory bowel disease certainly can do this, but it most likely when your UC or Crohn's disease have flared up. However, night sweats rarely would be the only symptom of these problems. : I would look for other reasons for mild.night sweats such as warm environment, hormonal causes(premenopausal), taking tylenol, advil.or aspirin around bedtime or too warm bed clothes.
