: Pay attention to your food which causes the pain. Pain in the right upper quadrant after eating often suggests biliary tract problem although gallbladder is normal by ultrasound. The contraction of gallbladder after a high fat meal can cause your symptom and it's called biliary dyskinesia. my whole digestive tract (from throat through bowels to rectum) is always gurgling. doctor says it's likely ibs/gerd, but no medications work to stop it, i've tried antacids, gas-x etc, only thing that seems to work a little is peppermint tea?

: The gurgling is due to peristaltis, contractions of the intestinal tract moving juices,foods down towards the colon &amp;rectum. Apparently you don't have any other symptoms like loose stools, cramps,bloating,heartburn. If the gurgling is a nuisance a medication like dicyclomine could quiet those intestinal gurgling sounds.

No: No, gas-x is fine with zithromax, it is not an antacid.  Antacids would be considered things like tums, rolaids, maalox, etc.  If you're having minor heartburn, you could take Pepcid or zantac, (ranitidine) those are not antacids, either, and can be taken with zithromax.

can i take tums with simithicone that expired 5 months ago? having bad symptoms but cannot but new until the store opens?

: The "use by" or expiration date of these products is the last date the manufacturer assures full potency. This does not turn toxic at that point. You can use it as needed but it may not be as helpful. I would in that setting.

Side effect: Zantac (ranitidine) probably not causing the gas, tums or gas meds can be taken with zantac (ranitidine). Excessive gas may be from malabsorption of the food. Consult wtih your pediatrician
