It requires passive or active mobilization of groups of muscles or soft tissue ( tendons, ligaments )and treatment of the inflammation with different exercises, movements, technics or machines. They use heat or cold, electrical stimulation, ultrasound waves, weights, massage or others.

Depends!: It depends on what your doctor ordered. I generally prescribe an exercise program to stretch and strengthen the back (the therapist instructs you in this), plus general fitness (aerobic exercise). The therapist may use other techniques, but in the end you should be able to do the exercise program on your own.

Not so much chem.-: -as i would think physics. It involves motion, strength, movement. Muscle contraction is involved in chemistry more, but also physics as it has to do with ions, cell membranes as well as neuro-transmission of commands. There's no simple relationship to one or the other, but I feel more physics..

Volunteer at a pediatric orthopedics hospital sponsored by scottish rite, such as texas scottish rite hospital in dallas.  Ask about becoming a school trainer assistant and learn about sports rehab.  There are many ways, you just have to look into them.
