i have a thin metal rod in my right ankle since 1984 after breaking my ankle. i am having an mri tomorrow. anything i should be concerned about?

Not really: After 28 years it is safe to assume that the plate or rod in your ankle region has been well incorporated and will not be ripped out of your body and act as a missile. The MRI is presumably for another part of your body? Any attempt to use MRI to image the ankle would be severely degraded by artifacts from the metal. Make sure the staff at the MRI center know about all metal in your body.

fib tib break - 4 months since intermedullary rod and screws inserted. how easy to just remove screws above ankle? think is affecting nerve endings.

See your orthopedist: Removal of appliances placed for bone fractures are performed frequently and are not as involved as inserting them.  Timing of removal is key, and your orthopedist will know when.

Time to Re-evaluate.: Sounds like too much jingle and not enough jangle. The best remedy is to have your ankle thoroughly examined by an ankle expert. Two opinions would not be out of the question.

i broke my femur in october and had a rod put in now the top of my foot and ankle hurt really bad and the side of my hip hurts.i wanna cry.what is wro?

Femur fracture : I highly suggest that you refer to your orthopedist very soon ... There maybe issues with hardware ie infection ,  misplacement , etc

i have two bites on my ankles, maybe like a centimeter apart. it just now started to burn a little after my shower. i still feel normal. ?

Are you sure they : Are bites? If so, do you have any idea what bit you? Either way, keep it clean and use a topical antibiotic and look for signs of infection like redness or heat to a larger area after a day or two

i feel like something in my ankle keeps poping in and out. every time i turn it. why is this happening?

Hmmmm: Could be ligament injury and instability, or could be a loose body on he joint, or could be unstable tendons snapping over the edge of the bone.  If not getting better it is best to get it checked by an orthopedic doctor

Ankle Pain: Try simple things first like resting, ice, elevation and compressive wraps.  If the pain continues, i would recommend evaluation by your primary care physician who can then refer you to the proper specialist.

why do i feel the constant need to flex my wrists and ankles? my ankles and wrists feel numb but painful at the same time, its like when you stretch in the morning but it never goes away?

: You should see your primary care doctor. More details are needed. Is this a neurological problem and or joint problem. Can it be the result of an emotional issue?
