i recently had a neck mri that found small 2 mm hydromelia at c4 to c7 that is believed to be an incidental finding. i have no idea how and when it formed. do upper body work outs need to be avoided to minimize the risk of it enlarging?

MRI IMAGES OF HEAD/N: It is magnetic resonance i maging of anatomocal structures of head and neck.It defines the the structures from brain to spinal chord, sinuses and facial bones to diagnose various conditions or to rule them out with normal imaging.

is a head mri or a neck mri needed in case of a stiff neck?

Not usually: Not usually.  You usually just need heat, massage, or rest.  But if you have a stiff neck (the kind the hurts if you try to touch your chin to your chest) with headache or fever, you need to see a doctor right away.

having neck mri with iv sedation. do i hear the mri sounds even with sedation?

Depends on scan, sed: Depending on the amount of sedation given, you may be in "twilight" (i.e., sleeping) or just drowsy. (Doubtful that you would be unconscious). Depending on the level of sedation, you may still hear the magnet working. Also, it depends on the scan: (getting technical) as gradient-echo pulse sequences tend to be louder than spin-echo sequences. But you can always ask for ear plugs! Good Luck!

neck mri shows "small cervical lymph nodes noted bilaterally prominent at level  ii with preserved helium". what does this mean?

Sounds normal.: We all have lymph nodes in our neck. Sometimes they get a little "prominent". The "preserved hilum" is a good thing because it means the lymph node looks normal otherwise. If there were no other findings, then this is OK.

i have lhermitte's but normal neuro and brain/neck mri. neuro says its not ms, but symptom intensifies with exercise. is this ms?

L'hermitte's : Ms, cervical radiculopathies, brachial plexus problems, chiari malformation, syrinx, can all cause similar complaints. I assume they were also ruled out by neurologist. Muscles that attach to occipital for thoracic origin or scapular origin can cause this symptom with movement.  Can it be ms, in short the answer is yes, but, the gold standard test is MRI for ms.

crackles and pops like pop rocks what feels and sounds like in bottom of my brain and neck.mri shows lesions. can be related ? what can it be?

Doubtful: Doubtful, this may simply be the vertebrae / bones in your neck adjusting. The neck and back are fluid and moveable bones, that is where osteopathic medicine and chiropractic medicine can manipulate your bones to assist in realignment. Don't be alarmed, continue close follow up with your primary care provider.

Sometimes: It could only show enlargement,  fluid collection or necrosis. If suspect,  biopsy or pet scan would yield additional information.

You have: lymph nodes that are within normal range for size at the upper end, so these may simply represent normal lymph nodes, or possibly benign reactive lymph nodes due to infection or inflammation.  Their significance has to be assessed in the context of your entire clinical picture, so speaking with your doctor about your concerns might be helpful.
