Angina pain: If you are experiencing an increase in your usual angina, worsening pain or more frequent episodes, go see your doctor. Perhaps you are mistaking discomfort from worsening coronary artery disease for hunger pains. You should go talk to the doctor who knows you and your history to sort this out.

i started taking beyaz birth control for the first time sunday evening. i started my period on saturday. early this morning i woke up with chest pain and tightness and shortness of breath. i have felt like this off and on all day. what could it be?

Time to see a doctor: Chest pressure, chest tightness, or trouble breathing are signs that she should talk with her doctor right away or go to the ER.  In adults, chest pain can be a heart problem. She should not drive himself (safer by ambulance). If it turns out not to be myocarditis, heart attack symptoms, or anxiety attack symptoms, the ER will also have checked for problems such as a collapsed lung or pneumonia.

im waiting for angigram' i get tight chest pain that comes and goes and take aspirin 75mg'  also have angina spray but doesn't help .. should i worry?

Yes: Your doctor must be concerned enough of coronary artery disease that's why you are being worked up and you get medicines . If you have chest pain, your antianginal spray is given such that you use it every 5 minutes and if pain persists, go to the nearest er. Please follow that.

Sounds GI: Based on your age, your recent normal stress echo study, and importantly your description of symptoms, the symptoms sound more likely related to your gastrointestinal system.  Either GERD, esophageal spasm, or some other entity.  Would seek out a GI consultation.  Good luck!!

can high blood pressure give angina type chest pain?

Yes!: Angina type pain comes when the muscle of the heart gets stretched or the heart perceives it is not getting enough oxygen.  Even high blood pressure without coronary artery disease can cause angina type pain, but you must first make sure there is no CAD and must make sure to control the blood pressure!  most people with high blood pressure however have no symptoms.

i have long qt syndrome & an etopic beat plus i get a lot of chest pain & pressure. if it's angina & i don't get treated is it a problem?

If it's angina: Then yes, it could be a problem.  Please discuss with your cardiologist.

Not clear but need: You need  an evaluation. Contact your physician.  With your background we need to be certain you are not having blood clots. You may have a simple problem but it needs  to be clarified.

Consult your MD: I encourage you to contact the physician who prescribed you the birth control pills and go in for a physical exam. Pain of cardiac origin in a young woman your age is unlikely. However, you should not smoke while taking BCP. If you have pain when you take a deep inhalation it could be pleuritic pain. Have an in person exam but it will likely go away on its own. Do you smoke?

The : The safest, least expensive, and most effective form of birth control ever developed is the vasectomy performed on a male partner.  The vasectomy can be performed under local anesthetic on a patient with virtually any medical condition.  Compare that to tubal ligations that must be done under a general anesthetic and are not appropriate for patients with significant medical problems.

Have it evaluated: Chest pain even during very simple and normal situations is not normal.  Have it evaluatd as soon as possible.
