All of them can: Headache and nausea are common side effects of general anesthesia. They are both patient and surgery dependent. For example, young females, non smokers with a history of motion sickness are likely to experience nausea after anesthesia. Surgery on the eye and head often triggers nausea and headache. For coffee drinkers headache may be due to caffeine withdrawal. Speak to your anesthesiologist.

Yes,: There are no contraindications for having general anesthesia administered and suffering from frequent headaches.  I would, however, see someone to evaluate the potential cause of your headaches.

Accepted Answer

Yes: A dental anesthetic can contribute to symptoms of a headache if the anesthetic is injected into a venous plexus or an artery.  Patients with sensitivity to Epinephrine may also report headache type symptoms after receiving a local anesthetic containing epinephrine.

Normal: Assuming you have no other medical conditions, that is normal.  some of the drugs we give can cause headaches, etc.  The pain pills can also cause those symptoms.  Codeine, hydrocodone can all cause nausea.  If the headache gets worse, you may want to call you surgeon.

No: You should not be getting headaches from a general anesthetic 8 months earlier.  Check with your doc for other causes.

: Regular use of cannabinoids can affect dose of anesthetics and analgesics.  You can undergo the procedure, but need to let all doctors 
know of your usage so they can prepare appropriately.  Also, ask about positioning so your neck will be supported.

i had 4 wisdom teeth extracted yesterday under general anesthesia and now keep feeling faint and persistent headache....is this normal? what can i do?

Be patient: The removal of wisdom teeth under GA is a significant surgical procedure. Everyone experiences some level of discomfort or pain after wisdom teeth removal. This can include headache pain, jaw stiffness, ear pain and swelling. Be patient 3-4 days.

been out of sinus surgery for 4 days. been on ciprofloxacin for the same amount of time. i think the anesthesia is now fully gone and i have a headache. can i take ibuprofen? (allergic to tylenol + bronchiectasis?

Cipro,ibuprofen : Most people will have no problem taking the 2 meds, but there are reports of seizures in people who have taken these 2 meds together. Presence of chronic kidney disease could also pose a problem. Your pharmacist could advise you further about this matter.

my brother had undergone  circumcision for which he was given anaesthesia on his back. after 20 days he still has severe headache. is this normal.

Spinal headache: Sounds like you're referring to epidural anesthesia (by your spelling, i assume you don't live in the states) which can be complicated by a spinal headache due to spinal fluid leaking out from puncture site. Check out http://www.Mayoclinic.Com/health/spinal-headaches/ds00643. Then report this to anesthesiologist who can confirm diagnosis & offer "blood patch" to plug leak & stop headache.
