Trauma? STD?: Immediate onset of bleeding plus the other symptoms only a day later favor injury. But trauma less likely if you bottom regularly &amp; anus/rectum are accommodated to sex. Allergy is unlikely. No infection can cause symptoms under 24 hr, but if on the verge of STD symptoms (herpes, gonorrhea, chlamydia) sex could speed onset. See a doctor ASAP; better safe than sorry and diagnosis is easiet early.

See a doctor: you might need to be examined by a doctor preferably rectal surgeon.
try to sit in a hot tub with warm water.
try to use OTC medication like anusol HC.
unless you have a bad extensive tear ,the bleeding usually stop.

Anal sex: If you are experiencing spots of blood, that is probably fine as long as you are not incontinent.   There is no substitute for a physical exam , though.

i am 5 weeks post op after a hysterectomy with a vaginal cuff. i had anal sex. i have slight bleeding from the vaginal area. is this normal?

: If the anal sex is forceful it could cause the bleeding due to the close proximity. If that is the case, stop any manipulation in the anogenital area then bleeding should stop then you should consult your GYN doctor when you can have sex again. Good luck.

Maybe normal: Whether you have a c-section or a vaginal delivery, it can take up to 6 weeks for the uterus to heal and stop bleeding. Bleeding can stop and start during that time. Most doctors say 6 weeks for vaginal intercourse after a delivery. But usually you get a post partum exam around that time, and the doctor then gives you a "go ahead" if everything is healed. I'm not surprised you had pain.
