It's also important to keep your movements soft by taking a stool softener like colace and inserting a glycerin rectal suppository to make it easier to expel your stool. Botox &amp; Nitro: Botox has been used with success in some patients for anal fissues. Also, nitroglycerin ointment may be able to relieve the pain and improve the fissure.  Both of these will need to be administered from your physician.

was that your first baby.
how big of a cut you had, was it bey the delivery doctor, or spontaneous rupture,and who repaired it.
go to the doctor that deliver you for examination and answers
meanwhile you can sit in bath tub full of warm water .
keep your bowels soft.
your headache could be secondary to stress associated with this health issues.

Depends: If the fissure is acute and shallow, correction of an abnormal bowel  issue will resolve it in 2-3 weeks. A chronic fissure may stop bleeding but may not heal without surgical correction. You need to be properly evaluated with a discussion of your diet, fluid intake, bowel pattern and confirming the diagnosis with followup to confirm actually healing even if the symptoms resolve. when i empty my bowels, i strain. i've always done it and it caused my anal fissures, itching, and pain. how do i stop straining so my anus can heal?

Stool softeners: The straining irritates the anal tissue - the stool is probably a bit too firm. So you need to take something to make it a bit softer. If one of these work - then a little daily is better than intermittent use. And yes, daily use is ok. Mom, glycolax, stool softeners, and even prunes are ok. Dulcolax and senna herbal agents are not - they cause the colon to become addicted to their regular use.

Not really: constipation with hard and big sized stool and trauma to the anal area are the main reasons

Yes: A chronic fissure will often develop a "sentinel tag"  at the base of the fissure.  If you have growths elsewhere it may be unrelated to the fissure.

Start with GP: Before jumping to treatment make sure you have the diagnosis confirmed with your GP. Fissures are not commonly cut and/or drained and they are typically seen in inflammatory bowel disease. If surgery needed your GP will be able to advise based on your insurance plan.
