Most likely: Since you say it was your first use,  and you are presumably healthy, then most likely it will be cleared from your urine by January 8.  It is usually detectable for up to 5-7 days .  Chronic use of Valium results in a longer detection window, between 4-6 weeks.  It is long acting and has a half-life between 20-80 hours, depending on the amount and the ability of the body to clear the drug.

: This depends on the sensitivity of that test. Some can detect trace amounts of a banned substance, some tests would only detect it at a higher level. Drugs vary in their "half life" or the time it takes for 1/2 to be eliminated through metabolism. Some have a half life of a few hours or less, I can think of one with a half life of 22 days. It can take 4+ half lives to fall to undetectable.

Valium:  If truly 10 days ago you took Valium it most likely will not show up in a urine drug screen.

It depends...: One instance of drinking 3 days prior will not show up in a blood alcohol screen.

One instance of smoking marijuana 3 weeks prior will not likely show up.  Regular utilization of marijuana can take 6-7 weeks before it will not show up in a urine drug screen.
