High but ok: i recommend 30-40 mg/kg which would correspond to about 500 mg per day...you were prescribed 800. I doubt this will have any toxic effect, but it does seem a bit high.

No: Amoxicillin is a penicillin-type of antibiotic. It is by prescription only. There is no similar over-the-counter product in the U.S.  If a person has a new illness that might need amoxicillin, then a visit to the doctor&#x27;s office is typically needed. Only a few? No: If you took a whole bottle of the antibiotic while you have kidney failure, then yes- however, I am assuming you may have taken a few extra tablets (1-3), which is not typically associated with an antibiotic "overdose".
